Silver Rewind: Staging an Icon of Humility and Never Fading Talent

"Simply amazing.."

There is always a time in our lives that we believe things are meant to be, or things can never be same again. This thinking actually bothered me personally, which I believe some other Reginians also felt, as we came back to the MOA Arena last January 5 to see if the Asia's Songbird will maintain her status as the ultimate belter and diva and be true to her promise that as she gets better, she will show how it should be done.
Lifted fabulously in the middle of her opening number.

Just to share, for those who did not know yet, last November 16, a different Regine came out of the stage, tired, unwell, can't sing well and a bit dizzy as I observed. I became so heart broken that I cried so hard on my ex's (hahaha) shoulders, because the whole Regination was not ready for that, and what made me wept more was the song "Dance With My Father" that she sang during her primetime hit "Diva,"

Hindi ko talaga maintindihan yung feelings ko after that concert, Kenneth and I deliberate on what happened and what could have happened if she did not get that freaking virus. Basta pag uwi ko, ayun, pak! Naiyak nalang ako na akala mo iniwanan na ng buong pamilya ko.. :) Actually, as a fan, the feeling is odd eh, pero wala naman ako talagang magawa kasi she got sick, so she cannot sing, I can bet na kung hindi virus yung tumama sa kanya at namalat lang sya for sure makaka pag perform talaga sya eh..

Intense diba? :)

And here comes January 5, from time to time, updates on Regine's Facebook Fan Page keep on coming and I can really say na parang there will be a really big event, because people from as far as Cebu and other provinces will come to watch.

Since we still do not know the best seat around, we decided to have Upperbox 420 Rows 12 and 13, on the pic, maaga pa masyado kaya parang konti pa lang ang tao. We came early though our seats are reserved, haha excited lang kasi talaga..

Common observation: The MOA Arena was then filled with all sorts of homo's, the Crossdressers, the Bisexes, the Closets, and many more, then I realized, parang mga sirenang nagsi ahunan nga talaga ang sangkabaklaan sa Manila Bay, pero in fairness talaga kay Regine, hindi nilangaw ang concert! I also appreciate some families, some got their children with them and some are the boyfriends-girlfriends who admired her. There was also this guy whom I think treated his mother and auntie on that event, which made me think, "I also want my mama to witness this kind of talent for sure she will appreciate it."

That night was very different when we first saw her on stage last November 16, very fresh ang make up and her voice is back to a bit normal, kasi she knows and we know, she could have done it a quite better, something more we deserve. Her opening number was astounding, a Shine/Where Have You Been mash up took us breathless thinking that she might fail again, but guess what, naloka ako sa mga high notes niya at the very start of the concert.

The Songbird "Owned" Sirena that night and gave it a
hit that we  will always remember.

There was no dull moment, and all performances were very powerful and energetic. Strong medleys and passionate songs came out from the Songbird that made the crowd go crazy over her, but I can really feel that there is this deep passion that she wanted to convey and she wanted us to enjoy the night and be enchanted by her beautiful voice. And I never expected that she will guest Gloc-9 na very much alive ang peg that night as he shared the stage with the Songbird.

From Harness on her R2K concert to fine cloth on her concert as she
gives another powerful rendition to the song "On the Wings of Love"
themesong of the Regination.

Seems like the highlight of the concert was the lift Regine had when she sang On the Wings of Love, this has been one of the best songs that first comes into our minds when her name is mentioned anywhere, same as her wonderful rendition of Pangako, Dadalhin, Pangarap ko ang Ibigin Ka to name some. I also liked how Mr. C prepared several medleys for the said event.

Regine with his father Mang Gerry during her early days.

Another thing that I came to notice is how Regine is deeply attached to his parents that she never feared losing her voice while singing and crying at the same time, if she has to sing for his father. To this moment I can  still remember how my tears fell down unexpectedly as we listened to her heart felt rendition of God Gave Me You and Leader of the Band. She really loves her papa so much.

It also very obvious that Regine is not insecure with the present generation of singers, since hindi sya nakikipag sapawan sa kahit sino pa na maka duet nya, kaya nga I don't like her singing with others kasi sya talaga ang nag gigive way haha.. To quote Kuh: "Kahit naman malakas boses ni Regine never syang nanapaw." It was a dream come true to see Jaya and Regine on stage talaga kaya hindi ko pinalagpas when she sang with her and her guests Diva and Rachelle Ann.

Funny Jaya as she pretend that she could not hit the high notes of
the song And I Am Telling You, I'm not Going.

A real fan of Regine, I can conclude that during the concert she was relaxed and very excited to perform for us, she also loves what she is doing and she never gives false hopes that she can never be the same again, after a storm she will rise and bring the beat in, as per Raul Mitra, "Ma Pride yang si Regine eh, hindi yan makokontento hangga't alam nyang hindi pa perfect."

Nothing compares to the humble and  very successful artist that is Regine, a lesson from her life is very clear, humility, a deep, true love for our parents and hard work will always bring us to success.

Happy and in love, Regine with her husband Ogie singing
Hanggang Ngayon.

Regine got everything, a loving husband, a cute baby boy, a very supportive parents and the fortune, but what she is doing now is still a part of what God planned for her, to be a great yet down to earth singer, whose inspiration still stretches to the younger generation. Though she got all she can ask for, I think Regine always got the heart to give the voice we loved as I believe we are her second family - her fans. :)

Regine on a very elegant gown as she sings
You Are My Song and You'll Never Walk Alone.
